Hi Experts,

I work at a properitery firm at small town as employee with salary of 16,000 per month.

I am the only employee at this firm and this firm does not have a TAN number also do not provide Form 16.

As per my knowledge I need not pay any tax but still I want to file the return in order to have the ITR acknoledgement for future references.

Kindly suggest how can I file my return. Which form should I fill? And if it can be done online.

Revert ASAP.

Hi,

As TDS has not been Deducted. So you will not have credit on your a/c and ur salary is also below taxable limit. If you want to file the return you file online, follow these steps

1) Get registered with incometax efiling site

2) Go to quick filing option and all ur tax (NIL) and address details will get updated automatically (ie., itr 1)

3) file a nil return and get the print out of the acknowledment copy.

4) send the same copy of acknowledgment to the income tax dep.

All the best.

I am trying to file at https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in under Quick e-file ITR. I have selected ITR-1.

I have filled all the details. Only doubt I have is where do I have to submit the details of employer, considering my employer does not have TAN.

What about any proof of the income I am mentioneing here.

If i just leave everything blank and mention total income as 180000(no tax payable), and submit it then I dont understand the auntentecity of this return.

As I have not submitted details of employer/salary etc. Please help to clearify my doubts.

Dear Bharat,

you can file ITR 1 without mentioning TAN & name of firm. your return will totally authenticated. In case you got any enquiry, you just have to prove that such firm paid you this amount of salary. But there are nominal chances for any enquiry.

so you can file the return in this manner.

You can also obtain Salary certificate from your employer on its letter head for future references.

I am a EPF pensioer, and my income is below the tax limit.

However, I want toi fill ITR1 to cliam a refund. When I fill the form

it asks for TAN of the employer, without which I cannot submit the form.

Kindly let me know the way out.

Thanks.
