Few questions on TDS (new provisions)

Question 1:  i asked about changes in T.D.S RATE with effect from New budget is there is cess or surcharge is obsolute withdrawn.

Question 2: For deposit T.D.S. it is compulsary to deposit on form no 17 now we are deposit on form no 281 is this is wrong or right. pls. tell
 
Question 3: New amedment in T.D.S. RETURN is it is compulsay to verify the challan by net in return.

Ans 1. Yes Surcharge & cess has been absolutely withdrawn but still exist on payment of salary & non resident.

Ans 2.  As there is no another clarification for FORM 17 by income tax deptt.  & from my point of views FORM 17 is still in the bucket of confusion . So payment to be made thru CHALLAN 281 .

Ans 3. Till date TDS return to be submitted in old format . So no new format

Q2- Form 17 is yet to be implemented.Form 281 or eremittance mode continue as of date.

Q3- challan verification is optional as given in the tin.nsdl website.but to be error free you can use it.

Ans to Q1: Yes, Surcharge, Education Cess are completely withdrawn except for:

  • Salaried Person and
  • Non Residents

 

Ans to Q2: Form No. 17 is not implemented and also no circular or clarification is available on  site. So you must continue with Challan 281.

 

Ans to Q3: Challan verification is optional but advisable for hassle free tax planning.

Ans to Q1: Yes, Surcharge, Education Cess are completely withdrawn except for:

  • Salaried Person and
  • Non Residents

Ans to Q2: Form No. 17 is not implemented and also  circular or clarified (ragarding Form no. 17 and Unique code)that still to issue a final circular..until and then people have to use Form No. 281 only..
