The same question was asked earlier..

Some of the friends said that FMV can be obtained from Registered Valuers,etc...

sss...you can ask the registration authorities about the FMV of that property in 1981........ The authorities will provide you the value of that property -1981....

MR sagar,

if any property is sold now which was purchase in 1978,then u can take FMV OR COST whichever is higher.FMV on 1.04.1981find out through Registered Valuers even if he is new or old..

It is better to get the value from Registered Valuers. They will provide eassily.
