Export bill

132 views 1 replies

Hi

I raise e-way bills of all sorts and transported goods which require it without it and have minimum compliance awareness. No I work for a manufacturer and want to supply goods abroad. What portal must I use?

I don't like different portals as it's expensive and burden on tax payers and hence I recommend government of India to integrate everything into the e-way portals.

Hi Yasaswi,

Great question! For exporting goods from India, here's a quick guide on which portals you need to use:

1. E-Way Bill Portal

  • The E-Way Bill is primarily for movement of goods within India.

  • For export, E-Way Bills are not mandatory if the goods are directly transported from the place of business to the customs port of export.

  • However, if goods move between locations within India before export, an e-way bill is required for those movements.

2. ICEGATE (Indian Customs Electronic Gateway)

  • For export customs clearance and filing shipping bills, use the ICEGATE portal:
    https://www.icegate.gov.in

  • This is the official portal for filing Shipping Bills and other customs documentation.

  • All export documentation, including declaration of goods and duty refunds, is handled here.

3. GST Portal

  • File your export invoices and GST returns on the GST portal:
    https://www.gst.gov.in

  • You will claim zero-rated supplies under GST for exports here.

4. Integration Suggestion

  • Your suggestion to integrate all portals is a common demand and would indeed simplify processes.

  • Meanwhile, ICEGATE and GST portals work together to some extent, but the e-way bill system remains a separate framework for inland movement.

Summary

Task Portal/Platform
Movement of goods inside India E-Way Bill Portal
Customs clearance & shipping bill ICEGATE
GST filing & export invoices GST Portal
