If X person is manufacturing furniture items like table, chair, bed etc in his shop & selling at his shop only. is it liable to excise duty or Vat or both. Please help.

Furniture also come under excise able goods. Central Excie turn over limit is 1.50 Cr. When your crossing the limit, you have to registered with central excise and pay duty as mentioned in excise tariff.
