Is it possible for the manufacturer to charge excise duty on the assessable value basis on items for which duty has to be charged on MRP basis. If yes, then under what circumstances and what conditions are required to be fulfilled? Please mention if there is any department's circular/notification to this effect.
assessable value section is only a residuary section. if any article is covered by mrp value based section then they can`t be value under assessable value section
