I intend to import foldable shoe rack from China. I have been told that apart from customs, there is also a component of excise to be paid in certain categories. Can you please suggest if there is any excise duty payable on this category? If yes then what will be the procedure to do the same. Thank you in advance.

As far as I am concerned, shoe racks are beyond the range of excise. I bought cheap shoe rack for sale from crazysales before, no duty required, considering my amount of goods. So if your order is in a reasonable amount then I don't see why you should pay excise on this category
