We have a Sugar & distillery unit,annual accounts for the company as a whole are approved by the shareholders at the AGM.However,the two units have separate registration under the Central Excise,although the units are physically separated by a boundary wall.Please list the possible advantages/disadvantages in having a Centralised/common Central Excise Registration. Dear Rajeshwar

It is better to have centralized registartion since it redcues paper work, compliances and easy movement of goods between the units.  Also, after amendment in Rule 6(3) it is better to go in centralized.
