Excess tax paid on one service- can be adjusted with other

A Client is engaged in providing in two service- One as Real Estate Agent and other Construction of residential complex. It happened during a month, excess service tax paid under one service and short paid under other. Can they be adjusted against each other.?

Yes.. it can be considered as a mere procedural lapse and the same can be adjusted. However, it is advised to intimate the same to the dept as a precautionary measure. After negative list regime the classification of services does not hold much importance except for the statistical purposes.
