Hari, yes you can study on your own! 
Follow the study materials issued by the ICAI, and other publications by them like Compilers, Suggested answers and Practice Manuals.

Since your attempt is in May 2014, you have ample time left. Frame a timtable and stick to it. 
Make sure you cover all the topics.. Dont do selective studies. In case you have any doubts, you can always turn up here and clear your queries!

Spend more time on the subjects you feel difficult. 
With regards to Theory subjects, make your own notes as you progress learning those chapters.. 
Make sure you have enough time for revision before your exams.. 

Believe in yourself, stick to your timetable.. and work hard!

@ hari - u can use studentlms.icai.org website . the lectures are good abd u can download the ppt presentations and mp3 audio format as well .. its a free e-learning website provided by the institute .

hey..dis query needs to be sorted out ASAP..

I have cleared IPCC group 1 in may 2012, but due to some unavoidable reasons i could not appear for group 2 in november, and again i have a problem in attempting the group 2 exams in may..I wanna know if it is ok for me to skip 2 consecutive attempts af an exam despite clearing one group..please reply to this as soon as possible..coz tomorrow I.e. 6th march is the last date to apply for the exam with late fee..
