Quick Summary
A recent government announcement provided an ex gratia payment to borrowers, refunding the difference between compound and simple interest charged during the pandemic moratorium period. This amount has been credited to your SBI credit card account. If you're unsure how to record this in your books, the entry should reflect the refund as income, offsetting the previous expense booking of the interest.
Recently govt anounced ex gratia to all borrowers amid pandemic, in which lender charged compound interest during moratorium period required to refund that amount to borrowers. Amount is diff between compound interest and simple interest. This will be credited in your bank account.
