Error in SFM paper final May2011 part 2

In ques 3a of sfm paper which was from mergers topic i think there was am error... As in later part of ques we were asked to calculate book value, mps n eps of swabhiman ltd (target co)but already in earlier part of the ques they were required 2 b calculated for ascertaining swap ratio... Why they were asked twice... I think they wanted us to calculate the same for merged entity but for this instead of writing swabhiman ltd in later part, name of acquirer co I.e abhiman ltd should had been written... Frnd I want ur comment on dis...

Firstly, i could not understand ur query..

But after close scrutiny, i agree wid u..

There appears to be a mistake and i had also calculated all those for merged entity..

I havnt calculated for the merged entity because it was not asked in the question,as I already calculted the book value,mps,eps in the previous part of the question for both the companies ,I think it's a printing mistake, in place of swabhiman ltd it should have been abhiman ltd In part 2 of ques

Hi Parth, this is the sum which has been copied and pasted from past year exams.

Yes, this sum has already been asked in past exam with change in names(Abhishek in place of Swabhiman) and figures, with no change in language.

You can check that out as the LAST MOST SUM IN M&A CHAPTER IN SRIDHAR SFM BOOK.

The same sum has been tested in May 2011.

as the paper was not at all tough .. it was a conceptual paper.. because a C.A. in industry definitely requires concept in paper like finance.. and if one have gone thru whole sylabbus he should not be very biased with the SFM paper..!!! thank u...
