Dear Sir,

I want to consult that can we claim entry tax paid against sale tax payable in punjab. As we have pay entry tax for purchase dg set for which we have to pay 13% entry tax. Now please confirm can we claim the same in against Sale Tax payable. If Yes please provide rule or notification no. regarding claim

See subsections 2 and 6 of Sec 3 of Punjab Entry of Goods Act 2005. A registered dealer who is liable to pay tax on the imported goods is not required to pay ET. If he pays it it can be reduced from the tax payable under Punjab VAT Act.......mjk.
