eligiblity of salary

I have one college. I am the principal of that college and also i am the faculty of that college. My auditor told me I am not eligible for getting salary as a faculty because you are the member of educational society. 
my query is i am eligible for getting salary or not if yes what is the provision, if not what is the proviaion
