Consolidation in tally student mode

Tally 122 views 1 replies

Hi

I created 3 companies first and a group company for all of them.

When I check the group balance sheet, it is adding only one company results and not other company results.

Example: I have 3 companies in a group, when I check group results, its displaying only 1 company results and not the aggregate of all 3 company results

Any idea how to deal with this please?

Hey Yasaswi! I’ve seen this confusion before in Tally Student Mode.

Why is your group company showing only one company’s results?

In Tally, when you create a Group Company to consolidate multiple companies, by default it shows consolidated figures only for companies that are “open” or “selected” during that session.

Here’s what you can do to get the full consolidated view of all 3 companies:

Steps to fix consolidation in Tally Student Mode:

  1. Ensure all companies are activated/open:

    • When you open Tally, it asks you to select companies.

    • Select all 3 companies that you want to consolidate along with the group company.

    • If any company is not selected/open, it won’t reflect in the group summary.

  2. Create the Group Company properly:

    • The group company should be set up in Tally as a “Group Company” by using Features > Accounts Info > Groups.

    • Under the group company, add the 3 individual companies as sub-companies.

  3. Check Group Company Settings:

    • Go to the group company’s Gateway of Tally > Display > Group Summary.

    • Make sure that the consolidation period and companies included are correctly set.

  4. Licensing limitation:

    • Sometimes, the Student Edition of Tally might limit the number of companies or restrict full group consolidation features.

    • Check if your Tally version supports multi-company consolidation fully.

Quick tip:

  • Open Tally.

  • When asked to select companies, press Spacebar on all the 3 companies plus the group company to select them.

  • Then open the group company and check the balance sheet or reports again.
