we need to make income tax thru' e-payment but our bank is not authorised to collect income tax. please let us know, whether anyone make e-payment on behalf of us. do you know any person doing such type of service, in CHENNAI, so that we can contact.

Yes, as per clarification from CBDT, e payment of taxes can be made from any online banking whether it is of the same assessee or not.
you can visit www.mca.gov.in to view details of bank authorised to collect tax
nyway u can also pay taxes from others accout by juz providing ur PAN
I guess, your auditor should be the right person to help you out......
