E-filing of it returns for salaried individuals

You can visit the site incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in and download ITR-1 in excel for the relevant assessment year from the downloads section.

Fill the excel file and generate XML version of the same when return is completely filled. Have your TDS certificate (Form 16) handy when filling the return bcoz most of the details would be mentioned there.

You can then register your PAN for online filing on the same site and upload the return (XML) by logging into your account after registration.  

However, pls note return can be filed only for previous 2 assessment years. Remaining return are time-barred and shall not be accepted.

In case of salaries there is no compulsion of filing return unless there is some income in addition to salary. If u want to disclose the income in addition to salary for assessment years prior to 2 years, you may send ur return by Regisieterd AD to Commissioner of Income Tax to avaoid any penalties in future.
