Inadvertantly, I did not correctly mention the name of the tenant in schedule on income from house property.for Ay 2018-19 and i filed ITR on line only yesterday.( 21 july 2018).

I noticed the mistake to day.

Can I revise the ITR under section 139 ( 5 ) and correct the name of the tenant and resubmit on line . I am yet to submit ITR V ?

or can I ignore as it will not alter the figures on taxable income..

My query is

1. Do I have to submit ITR V for the original ITR , since I wanted to revise as the ITR ,with out Form ITR V will automatically be invalid ?

2.Can I revise the Income tax return by changing name of tenant , now before the due date i.e 31 st july 2018 and submit ITR V only for this revised ITR ?

3. Do I need to submit ITR V for both ITRs i.e original and revised

Please advise me

No need to revise, provided PAN of the tenant correctly entered...

yes, else your ITR will become nonest

as said by Mr. dhiraj, it's not necessary if the pan of the tenant entered correctly and

Thank you for the clarification.

Since I have not mentioned PAN details of the tenant and filled with wrong name, , as understood by me,I will revise the ITR by filling with corect name oftenant and send ITR Vs of both original and revised ITR by mentioning the section as 139(5) .

Please advise
