E-file in response to notice u/s 148
An assessee who has filed the return for AY 2009-10 has received notice u/s 148. After due deliberations with the assessing officer, the assessee was asked to file the return again for that same assessment year.
Can someone guide on how to proceed with this? I have already prepared the return using the utility from the dept. website. How do I go about filing the return in the website. Should I select upload return and file as we normally do or is there any special option for that?

Select In Return Filing U/s 148
There is no such option in dept website.
This Option is Available in Utility Which Is Required To Upload

File As Original Return
If there is no change in return of income, a letter mentioning the fact and asking for reasons would suffice.
You can file your return under sec.148 before one month of notice u/s 148. You can file return same as original either online or offline selecting sec 148 . And ask AO reasons for reopening assessment. And follow supreme court guidelines in the case G K N Drive shafts case.
Before filing return under section 148, please verify whether Juridiction of ITO is proper or not and
at the same time ask for reasons for reopening if he refuses you may demand under RTI act and then proceed. You can also simply satae that original return filed on xxxx date may be trated as
return under section 148.

Reason for notice U/s 148 are Non-supplying of information as called under section 133 (6). Would they suffice ?
