E-Campaign Notice

I have received a message  as "The Income Tax Department has identified high value information which does not appear to be in line with the Income Tax Return filed for Assessment Year 2020-21 (relating to FY 2019-20). Please revise ITR / submit online response under e-Campaign tab on Compliance Portal (CP). Access CP by logging into e-filing portal and clicking on 'Compliance Portal' link under 'My Account'  or 'Compliance' tab  - ITD".

I have not mentioned Saving Bank interest of RS 18090/= in ITR.

My ITR for AY 2020-2021 was processed in January 2021.

Can I file revised return now?

Please reply.

Please provide a link also if u have any to process e-campaign notice.

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses an e-Campaign notice from the Income Tax Department regarding discrepancies between filed Income Tax Returns (ITR) for AY 2020-21 and identified high-value information, specifically undeclared savings bank interest. The user is seeking clarification on whether they can still file a revised return and how to handle a previously received refund when additional tax is now due. Advice suggests filing a revised return, paying the additional tax including the refund amount, and potentially responding to the e-Campaign notice on the Compliance Portal.

Can you please help me by replying to above post?

Can anyone tell me if I can still file revised return in reponse to e-campaign notice?

You can still file revised return upto 31-03-2021. Pay tax on additional income of sb interest. And file.

Thank you Sir, I will file revise return. I have one more issue to understand regarding the revised return.

My IT return for AY 2020-2021 (as mention above) was processed on January 4th 2021. I received a refund of Rs 2820/=. Now if I revised my return I have to pay some addtional taxes. So how do I compensate for the refund Rs 2820/= I received. I mean to say that how do I return the refund or how show that I received the refund in revised retrun since now I am liable to pay additional taxes.

Pay taxes by adding refund amount. CPC while processing will adjust refund accordingly.

Thank you Sir. I will add the refund amount to Self Assessment Tax Challan payment.

Does just filing a revised return is sufficient or in this case responding to e-campaign is also required ?

Technically it looks like 3 possible options ( not very clear should all be done or not )

1)file revised returns and don't reply to e-campaign information confirming the same.

2) file revised return and then validate that the information in e-campaign as true.

3)just validate the information in e-campaign and wait for authorities to accept the response and inform us back about the revised return filing

Please suggest .
