E-Campaign - High Value Transactions Notice for Kotak's Automated FD

We received a E-Campaign notice from IT Dept from High Value Transactions for FY-2018-19. We were scratching our heads as to why this notice was sent  as there were no high value transactions. But we were shocked when we saw that the message was for the combined annual value for Kotak Bank's Active money feature.

We hold an account with Kotak Mahindra bank with Active Money feature where in the system automatically creates terms deposits whenever the account balance crosses 1 lakhs on incoming deposits and breaks those TDs whenever funds are required for outward payments. Obviously this makes it look like the account has got lot of Term Deposits as the combined annual value went above the 1.25 crore which the IT dept thinks is High value transactions.

What should be our response to this e-campaign query ?

A Information is correct
B Information is not fully correct
C Information relates to other Person/Year
D Information is duplicate/included in other displayed information
E Information is denied

Totally confusing.

Thnx

Quick Summary
This discussion revolves around receiving an e-campaign notice from the IT Department regarding high-value transactions for the financial year 2018-19. The user was initially perplexed as they had no significant transactions, but discovered the notice was triggered by Kotak Bank's 'Active Money' feature. This feature automatically creates and breaks Term Deposits (TDs) when account balances fluctuate, leading to a high combined annual value that the IT department flagged. Other users shared similar experiences and suggested denying the transactions, as the actual TD interest and TDS were reflected in Form 26AS.

Hi Rajesh

Even I have faced exactly the same issue for Kotak bank transactions

Please do let me know how you proceed further on this matter

Hi Shivani, on the basis of a reply from another forum member (on another thread), I denied those transactions. Kotak has paid us interest and even deducted TDS. So the actual TD amount is there on the Form 26as. So we can deny those transactions. Let me know what your auditor says.

Hi Rajesh

Thank you for sharing this..

Even I have denied the transaction and there was nothing more to comment

Do let me know the link to the other forum where you have received a reply .. so I can also follow the same
