Doubt regarding tax

You can never be sure about what CANNOT come in C.A.exams.

It is always advisable to learn/memorise them.

I used a clue/shortcut :

Do not try to remember the exact indexes,instead try to remember the differences.

For example :

The Base figure is : 100

The next one is 109

remember their differences = 109 - 100 = 9

This way it could come like :

9

7

9

8

and so on...

Hope this helps...

Here is a legitimate way to solve your problem.

Buy a calculator with step checker. 

Just before the exam starts,

Add all the indices step by step... like 100+109+.......582

Do not erase the calculator memory. In the hall, see if you need the indices for any question.

The index of each year will be in the corresponding step, starting year 1981-82 as 100, 1982-83 as 109 etc....

Even i did the same thing......97987......but i m a bit poor in memorising things......so a no. here or there will be a prob for me......

the calculator trick will work i guess :)

C I I will always be given in the exam....

so spend time in learning the provisions rather wasting time in memorizing this....

Completely agreed with Azim Khan, It is always given in question paper.

So Anuradha G, don't worry and focus on other relevant things.

I also request CAclubindia members, Please don't make such a irresponsible suggestion to make them panic.
