due to mistake wrong category allotted to assessee. he have obtained new PAN in correct category. if he surrenders old PAN, what will be the implications on portal I'd, refunds and returns already filed on old PAN.?

What change in category ? can you specify ?
Holding two PAN cards is punishable.
It's better you talk on helpline with PAN issuing Agency for such situation.
To double confirm, you may visit AO's office for guidance.

sir, the assess got registered under the incorrect category of FIRM at the time of allocation of Pan Card. the Assessee registered as a trust under the trust act. until now, the assessee is filing ITR-7, however, as per the new schema of the department, it can not file the return under the earlier mentioned form. as per discussion with department new PAN with the correct category applied. now we want to surrender wrong PAN. but if we do this, all our refunds will get stuck.

There must be a way out for both - surrender of old PAN and caring for prior years refund in old PAN. Refer my earlier reply for more.

Actually refund get failed due to bank account prevalidation reason so we have to wait for transfer of refund in assessee account. if we surrender pan that we can not file any refund failures request.
Same thing I told you to confirm with department. There must be a way out for this situation.
