Does ITD issues Form 16A for TDS on refund amount interest?

All,

I have been issued interest on overpaid tax by ITD for last FY. ITD also deducted TDS on interest amount and reflected in their refund intimation letter and in AIS - Part B4 (Information relating to Demand and Refund).

Though, they haven't issued Form 16A and do not appear in AIS Income section and hence it can not be pulled in Return.

How to go about it for including this income in Tax return? I can not include TDS amount as it does not match with Form 26AS.

Is ITD not obliged to issue Form 16A? I have raised grievance tickets as well but not leading to no where...please help.

ITD do not issue form 16A for TDS deducted on interest paid over refund, but when you download prefilled ITR, the amount is auto populated in Schedule OS.

OS section do reflect total interest component incl TDS.

TDS should appear in TAX PAID component.

ITD had issued 16A for FY18-19 for sure as it was similar case then for me.

You may wait for TDS certificate, otherwise lodge complaint under 'Grievances'.

No such provision regarding form 16 for refund

To update final closure - ITD is yet to close on grievance ticket but the TDS amount is reflected in my FORM 26AS. They have deducted TDS in Jul-23 and updated Form26AS in Jun-24.
