Yes dividend income is taxable in the hands of receiver now.

Sir, since senior citizens are exempt from payment of advance tax, are they also exempt from providing quarterly details of dividend/capital gains etc. on their Tax Return? If there is a circular or other instructions on this, it would help if you could give its reference. Thank you.

I don't think as far as I belive, there is circular,...but portal MIGHT be taking calculations, as per age and gender of assessee.that is what I guss
