Sir, since senior citizens are exempt from payment of advance tax, are they also exempt from providing quarterly details of dividend/capital gains etc. on their Tax Return? If there is a circular or other instructions on this, it would help if you could give its reference. Thank you.

I don't think as far as I belive, there is circular,...but portal MIGHT be taking calculations, as per age and gender of assessee.that is what I guss

Thank you. If this is officially clarified early, it would be of help to senior citizens who would otherwise have to carry out thisl exercise that is avoidable in their case.

There is no requirement to give quarterly details ,
i think income tax calculator is asking for quarterly information just to decide the calculation of interest under section 234C advance tax

Yes it is taxable, you must show your dividend income in Income from other sources column
