a public company can have maximum how many director,and state their type?

a public company can have minimum 3 director. they can be executive or non executive or a mixture of the two.
Maximum no of directors is fifteen. however by passing special resolution a company may appoint more than fifteen directors.
I am going with the opinion of Vibha.. additionally the Composition of the board will be defined by the Capital Structure and borrowings of the Company. if it is required to appoint Independent director or not. Section 149 will help you in this case alongwith rules.
