Direct entry: group-1 & group-2 to be attempted together or not?

Hello,
Although it is very clear that 'students under the Direct Entry Scheme are mandatorily required to register for Both
Groups.'(taken off from icai FAQs)

What i would like to ask you/confirm is whether it is absolutely necessary for students to give both group 1 & group 2 exams together.
(OR)Isn't it possible to attempt only a single group's exams?

(OR)Is there any provision to handle such a case wherein a Direct Entry student appears in group 1 but fails to appear for the subsequent group 2 exams?

Registration only required compulsorily for both groups,at the same time appearing for both groups towards exam in one attempt is not mandatory... U can go for anyone of the group irrespective whether it is 1 or 2...

No, it is not compulsory to give both group examination.

Only registration is compulsary.

It is a personal choice and not enforciable by the institute.

After joining articleship under direct entry scheme,

1. You can give your Ipc attempts after 8months. But theres no time bar for you to complete the ipcc exam at the earliest. Its your personal choice to attempt the exam or not during your whole period of articleship.

2. Having said that , better write group one first after proper dedicated studies.

3. Always think positive and study well.
