Suha cost & Fm not tough..it is conceptual paper...

sir how should we proceed with costing &fm?

which book should we refer for good conceptual knowledge?

you should prefer book of ashish kalra sir...... i think if your concept are not clear then you should go for coaching

I Will also suggest the same...............!!!!!!!!

One thing i wanna clear that at ipcc/ pcc level costing & fm is a new subject

So there is no point of saying that if your concepts are not clear go for classes.

For conceptual knowledge u should study at unrestricted research level. For this REfer N number of text books ,professors, more importantly internet and Frens....Now comes application part,

Take this for granted trust ICAI materials ie module,RTP, Suggested Answers ,do this thrice.there ll be no reason ull not get through.

This is from my experience ....Institute's publications ve high value in the eyes of the paper Setter.

 hi,

cost and fm is not difficult, first of all not loose confidence .....

for cost study material is  the best.

and fm go for the ashish karla sir books..

For Cost FM, Go for Ashish Kalra Book , + RTPs of past attempts and Suggested answers of past attempts..

NO, Cost FM is not tough at all, its just that you need to be patient and gradually u'll be getting concepts...

In my honest opinion there's no need of coaching required for Cost FM at IPCC level, all u need is a good book meant specially for self study, - look at PC Tulsian's book, it should help...

No doubt Ashish Kalra's books are good but they are not meant for self study, refer to them only afterwards.

And believe me, if u r smart enough then DONT take any coaching for practical subjects i.e. A/cs Cost FM. Practical subjects need only self study, the more you solve problems, u will start getting concepts. And dont think u will understand everything in first go... the more u revise, better will be your understanding.

As your attempt  is in may 2012..just wanna say dont panic...because cost n fm paper many times is not tough but we r nervous since the very beginning to attempt this paper that we spoil it out of fear...the first one hour of the exam is very crucial time ...be calm n confident it will do wonders......and ya do the compiler....to get an idea about the types of questions asked...If you can study by urself well n good but i feel that if you take coaching you will be forced to atleast cover the entire syllabus if u r lazy...cos in self study u r ur own master...i did self study so i know wat problems will be there...but ofcourse u can pass Ca exams with self study provided u have the urge to explore n learn by urself...the institute publishes....RTPs ,suggested..just go through it....at the end of the day...your concepts should be clear....so that no matter wat type of question comes you can attempt it.....but cost n fm paper is not tough...just go through past years question papers n do n analyses.....students,have of the time spoil this paper out of nervousness,n many times this paper becomes lengthy due to calculations involved.....

Conclusion---get ur concepts clear.....know the answers to y,how, where ...u will surely succeed..and please dont get nervous.
