Hi,

The dieases covered under 80DDB are

  • Ataxia
  • Dementia
  • Aphasia
  • Dystonia musculorum deformans
  • Hemiballismus
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Chorea
  • Motor neuron disease
  • Renal failure
  • Malignant cancers
  • Hematological disorders
  • Thalassaemia
  • Hemophilia
  • Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

So, kidney dieases doesnt falls under Specified dieases, therefore no dednunder 80DDB

My doctor said chronic kidney disease previously called as Chronic Renal Failure

hi,

If your doctor is providing certificate under 80DDB , then u can claim 40,000,

if your father is above 60 yrs bt below 80 then 60,000,and if above 80 then 80,000.

As father is included in the meaning of dependent family
