Quick Summary
An income tax demand was raised due to an employer failing to deposit TDS for one month, despite deducting it from the employee's salary. The employee is advised to protest this demand by filing an appeal online through the income tax portal, stating disagreement. The responsibility to pay the deducted TDS lies with the employer.

Demand should be paid

Since the employer would have already deducted tax at source from salary of the employee, the employer is bound to pay tax to the govt.

I totally agree with Poornima.
You have to protest the demand raised upon you.
