Demand notice u/s 143(1)

This query pertains to efiling for AY 2010-11, which was filed after the due date on 30 Mar 11. I had claimed IT exemption for the interest component on my housing loan. (This is the only property against my name and is self occupied.). The same was actioned U/S 192 (B) in my Form 16. However, during efiling, I had not entered the details correctly in Schedule CYLA and HP, which resulted in increased gross income as well as tax liability. I received a Demand Notice U/S 143 (1) for appx Rs. 24,000/- due to the said error. Else, there was no tax refund or tax due for AY 2010-11. When I called CPC helpline, i was advised to file a rectification request U/S 154, which was later rejected on the ground of change in gross income. I was advised to file revised return. However, I could not file a revised return as my original return was filed after last date. I approached the local IT office and filed my revised return manually. Till date, the demand notice for the arrears is not cancelled. When I approached the Assessing Officer in Bangalore IT office after a year, I was informed that a small amount of refund amount (Rs.70/-) for AY-2011-12 was adjusted against demand arrears for AY 10-11 as it is still pending. Since my Assessing Officer is in Delhi and the local IT office is in Bangalore, please advise for cancellation of the demand arrear notice for Ay 10-11. I am a salaried employee having no other source of income (except interest income form fixed deposit). Should I approach my A.O in delhi or request for change of jurusdiction of AO from Delhi to Bangalore for further action? Please note that my employer, whose office is based at Delhi, remits TDS for all its employees centrally in Delhi Ward irrespective of our place of posting. I am in a transferable job (once in 3 yrs). My PAn records have my permanent residential address as Bangalore and I am presently posted in Bangalore till Jun/Jul 13. REquest advise future course of action for transfer of rectification rights from CPC to Assessing Officer amd subsequent cancellation of Demand Arrear notice. Is there any solution directly through CPC intervention? Thanks

Dear Sir,

As your original return is filed online, unless and until CPC transfers your case to local AO, your manually filed revised return will not be processed. I can help you if you can send me your original return, demand notice, rectification filed and its rejection.
