Deffered revenue or revenue expenditure

hello caclubindia happy new year

my question is when we incur an heavy advertisement expenditure on launching an new product in the market we treat it as deffered revenue expenditure so when an already existing product is upgraded and again an adv expenditure is incurred what shall be the treatment does this product amounts to new product ?

concept of deferred revenue expenditure is no more in practice.

the entire expenditure on existing product can be debited to year in which it is incurred.
