Director shall be disqualified to be re-appointed as a director of that company or appointed in other company for a period of five years from the date on which the said company fails to do so.

if the director is appointed & 6 months has not lapsed of his appointment then such director shall not be disqualified as per proviso of sec 164(2)
if 6 months have elapsed from the appointment then shall be disqualified
if 6 months have elapsed from the appointment then shall be disqualified
