respected sir, I have a query regarding TDS and ESI, PF on salary... my salary is 40,000 rs and i said my boss not to deduct ESI & PF insisted him to deduct only TDS is it correct? can u explain me the criteria when i can do TDS insted of ESI, PF.?
no you can't insist on this. TDS is different which us governed by the Income tax act whereas of and ESI are governed by the respective laws like ESI Act and PF act. each such act prescribes to deduct the amount from salary which us mandatory. these are part of savings of the employee so the government has introduced these acts. so employer needs to deduct PF or ESI as applicable and also TDS needs to be made if salary income exceeds the exemption limit after allowi g all the deduction
