Quick Summary
A State Government employee had one day's salary deducted for a COVID-19 relief fund, which was then shown as an 80G deduction on their Form 16. The individual is unsure how to claim this deduction in their Income Tax Return (ITR) as the Schedule 80G is mandatory. The advice is to request the employer for the trust's registration number and then fill out Schedule 80G in the ITR, including the fund's PAN and name, claiming 100% deduction. Proof is not required if the deduction is already reflected in Form 16.

You can request the employer to provide the Registration number of the trust

You have to fill Schedule G to auto populate in respective deduction from salary income u/s 80G. Fill PAN number and name of the fund with claiming it for 100% in schedule. No need for proof if shown in Form 16A.
