A company has deducted as donation to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund for Thane Relief from the salary of the employees on the strength of request from the recognised trade union. Some of the employees object to this and demand refund of the same. Is the latter right in demanding refund?

Any deductions from salary (other than statutory deductions like PF, TDS etc) should only be with the concurrence of employees. The employees are fully justified in demanding refund of the amont deducted incase the deduction was made without their consent.
