Can we just exempt 1600 per month as transport Allowance when form 16 do not include it...

Hello,

Some deductions are not mentioned in your salary certificate i.e. Form 16 by your employers, you can claim the same while filing your income tax return.

Transport allowance exemption is to be considered only when you get transport allowance from your employer.

Where there is no allowance, exemption on it cannot be availed.

You need to check the break up of your salary slip. If there us no break up, it means no separate allowance given and subsequently no exemption. If you are getting transport allowance, automatically exemption will be available in your form 16.

Can you elaborate more on your view as to what are you trying to address to. All allowances and it's related exemption are provided in form 16.
