Declaring a property vacant

Hello,

I have 2 house properties that i own.

PROPERTY 1 - I have earned rent on this in fin year 2017-2018 and there's no home loan outgo so after standard 30% deduction and municipal tax deduction, I will declare the income as "income from house property"

PROPERTY 2 - This house possession i got onyl in Sep 2017 and it was lying vacant until March 2018 so i have not earned any money on this however, there's home loan ougto

I myself live in ANOTHER rented house so I will be claiming HRA for the rent I am paying - so none of the above mentioned owned properties can be technically declared as "self occupied" for fin year 2017-2018

My question is as follows

-- .Since my property 2 was genuinely vacant for the whole of financial year, should i still be showing any "notional rent" received for it ?

yes you need to declare reasonably let out value as your rental income
