DARPAN ID for charitable trust registered only under Income tax act 1961

The Charitable tursts are required to get DARPAN Id as part of their KYC requirement. If a charitable trust is registered only under the Income Tax Act, 1961 is it possible to get the same without registering under any other law. If so how.

As per the guidelines issued by the NITI Aayog: DARPAN ID for Charitable Trusts: - *Mandatory Registration*: All charitable trusts are required to obtain a DARPAN ID as part of their KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance. - *Registration under Income Tax Act, 1961*: If a charitable trust is already registered under the Income Tax Act, 1961, it can obtain a DARPAN ID without registering under any other law. Registration Process: 1. *Visit the NITI Aayog Portal*: Go to the NITI Aayog portal (https://www.niti.gov.in/) and click on the "DARPAN" link. 2. *Click on "Register Your NGO"*: Click on the "Register Your NGO" button and select "Trust" as the type of organization. 3. *Fill in the Registration Form*: Fill in the registration form with the required details, including the trust's name, address, PAN number, and income tax registration details. 4. *Upload Required Documents*: Upload the required documents, including the trust deed, PAN card, and income tax registration certificate. 5. *Submit the Application*: Submit the application and pay the registration fee (if applicable). Key Points: - *Unique ID*: Once registered, the charitable trust will receive a unique DARPAN ID. - *Validity*: The DARPAN ID is valid for a period of 5 years, after which it needs to be renewed. Consult a tax professional or chartered accountant to ensure you're meeting the DARPAN ID registration requirements and following the correct procedure.

While registering the trust, the Act Name and Registering Authority have to be selected from the dropdown menu which does not include the Income Tax Act, 1961. These fields are compulsory.

The trust is registered only under the Income Tax Act, 1961. So how to proceed
