I wanted to know whether the amendments and case laws applicable for ca exams in nov 2011 are applicable in cs december 2011 advanced tax laws exam or are there separate cases applicable for dec exams.
For direct tax portion finance act 2010 and indirect tax finance act 2011 is applicable. so it is same for ca and cs.You can take the applicable amendments from icsi website from student section.

from previous exams question papers i have seen that many case laws are asked in cs professional programme from where can i get the latest case laws related with dec 2011 exams.
Thanks for replying but there's a slight confusion.........the cases for dec 2011 cs proff exam are same as applicable in nov 2011 in ca exams or should i do anything else like previous year ca or cs paper...........your suggestions are valuable so kindly reply........

If you start from today you can prepare 1st group for Dec. attempt from sangeet kedia notes (poja law house).Only start to prepare for 3rd group if u have prepared tax paper already and can do selective chapters from strategic management 3 to 4(40 marks),Alliance full (20 marks), International trade 3 chapter.(40 marks).

From student company secretary (cs)and charted student journal (ca), both are available at respective institute website.

For corporate Restructuring, first winding up and other chapters in part B like revival and rehab, securitisation act and debt recovery act up are easy and consists of 30 marks and after that in part A cover amalgamation (ch -3) which is already covered in ca final infact winding up and other chapters in part b are also covered in ca final. After amalgamation do intrdouction(ch 1), strategies(ch2) and post merger (ch8). now for your remaining ch like funding, valuation, corporate demerger and financial restructuring are almost covered in ca Final SFM AND LAW and in last do takeovers if you have anytime left. I followed sangeet kedia's notes along with reliance compiler.
Since i was also running short of time of time i did reliance compiler. modules are vast and difficult to handle if not much time is left.

hi.. i jst gave ma ca final in nov 11 n m goin 2 appear for cs final all modules this december & apart from what i know from ca in tax, fm , company secretarial practice i hvnt really covered much portion. i m in a big problem. pl tel me whether studying from reliance compilers or only this much or both is sufficient??? since not much time is left, its not possible to study from module entirely.. please advice from where to study and please give me a list of imp chapters in all subjects... please help me.. thanks in advance.
