Credit of service tax

u 1st see that the travel agent whether have the ST registration, if Yes u can take credit, if not the agent should not charge the service tax from u , meanwhile u can not get credit.

yes, you can take cenvat credit.

This is a case of service tax not the case of VAT...

So u cant avail credit.......

Service Tax Credit is taken "on those bills only which services are directly or indirectly related to the manufacturing process , n if the travelling is related to manufacturing process" of the nature of industry is functioning , but if it is a personal travelling expenditure u cant take the credit .

Advertisement , Telecommunication Services , Engineering services , input services ( Freight ) , Output Services ( Freight ), product survey are the examples  of  Service Tax Credit
