Hello Friends!!

Can anybody please tell me about the hours of credit we need to gain by attending seminars and conventions, during our CS professional course enrollment?

If any...

Is it necessary to gain the credit before exams?

can anybody please provide a link of an authentic site from the ICSI for further information?

No... Such requirement in CS Professional exam....

Thank you Vivek,

actually i am not undergoimg any training for CS presently, so can you tell me whether i ever need to take these credits. or the SMTP course after exams is suffice for the licenciate degree?

Hi Puja,

I dont know much about training... My basic understanding about CS training is this:

There are 2 types of training a. 15 months b. 3 months

i think SMTP is the 3 months training. right...? (Correct me if i am wrong)

ICSI grants some relaxation from 15 months training on the basis of work knowledge of the student. But i dont know whether v can claim on the basis of CA articleship.

3 months training is compulsory. But those who have undergone 15 months training, they need not undergo 3 months training.

U can write professional exam without undergoing above training... But you cannot apply for membership without above training..

What are my plans...?

My CS executive results will come on Feb 25.

If i am pass, i will write to ICSI to ask wthetehr they will gv any relaxation from training.

If not, i will immediately register for 15 months training.

In dec, i will write Porfessional program... So, 9 months training will be completed before appearing for professional exam... remaining 6 months will complete after exams...

Kindly share your plans...

Hi

As far as I know -

Puja - For licentiateship of ICSI you need not to go for training or SMTP, Infact for SMTP you must complete a minimum 12 months of training hence you cant do that even if you want.  For licentiateship you simply need to pass your professional course only. ( I am registered as licentiate only by passing final{old})

Regarding credit hours, no need for credit hours for professional exams.  You are required to have 25 credit hours during your training period, hence if you dont want to start training, no need for credit hours.  Refer following link for details (i tried to open link in icsi site, but its not opening, found this one for your confirmation - )

Vivek - SMTP is different from 3 months training.  Its a 15 day programme known as Secretarial Modular Training Programme, a orientation course.  I dont think they will provide you exemption on basis of CA articleship, but still as there is no fix criteria for exemption you can apply, may be you get exemption. I assume you have completed your  CA articleship as only then you can go for CS training.

@ Mohit Mahajan

Thank you for your guidance.

@ Vivek

The SMTP is the 15 days programme.

My plans...

I cleared my executive in June 2009.

Will appear for professional June 2010.

No plans to undergo any training and i just plan to bag a licenciate degree.

I have my CA Final in Nov 2010, so i'll get thru the CS prof., bfor appesring for Ca Final.

Thats how it is!!

Yes... Mohit Sir... I have completed articleship in Jan 2009, I cleared my CA final in November 2009...

This "licentiateship" concept is new to me.... I had no idea bout it... I will check the link provided by you....

I need another help from you Sir....

CS executive exam results of Dec 2009 will come on 25 Feb 2010 na...? So, if i pass in that, can i write all groups of professional exam in Dec 2010.....?

Hello vivek, i m just a student like you so plz dont call me sir.  Congrats for becoming a CA. Yes you can appear for all groups of professional in december 2010.  Regarding licentiate, just like there is associate cs, fellow cs, there is licentiate cs which denotes that the person has passed his cs final but have not completed/started his training.  For licentiate check following link

https://www.icsi.edu/Member/Enrolmentasalicentiate/tabid/1798/Default.aspx

And result will be on 25 feb.  Best of luck

As said, there are no credit hours for CS exams but there are 25 Credit Hours required for CS Membership.
