Dear Taxpayer,
Ref:- E-filing Acknowledgement Number 3***************1111 date 29-NOV-11
The Income Tax Department- Centralized Processing Centre (ITD-CPC), Bangalore is not in a position to
proceed with the e-return filed by you, details of which are indicated above. The return is transferred to
Jurisdictional Assessing Officer (in AST) processing of which is to be done by the Jurisdictional Assessing
Officer who may be contacted for further clarifications if any. In order to know your current jurisdictional
Assessing Officer (AO) you may log on to https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in and click on "Know Jurisdiction"
under "SERVICES" menu.

Anybody else got the same msg???

Yes, we have received for around 30 returns the same msg.

The reason of such msg received may be

1) return is filed in ITO range other than which is mentioned in PAN data

2) return is selected for regular assessment or scurtiny.

visit the ITO based on your pan data, to get further clarificatoins.

15 more transferred today...sad..

"1) return is filed in ITO range other than which is mentioned in PAN data"

may be but there are around 10 cases which do not have this problem...however the remaining qualify in that explanantion..

if this is the reason for transferring the cases what purpose does the online filing portal serve..after all its meant to 'ANYTIME ANYWERE' kinda thing..

anywhere anytime e filing does not allow you to change your ITO codes, unless you have changed the same in your pan data,

e filing allow you to file your return from anywhere, anytime.

most of such cases have been reported big amount in savings bank / Bank FD transactions, but the source of such funds are not traceable from returns, hence files are transferred for regular assessment by concerned ITO.

Hello,

These transfers were made in the past mainly due to tax mismatch issues. In an automated environment it is difficult for CPC to verify TDS certificates and give tax credit to the assessees. Consequently these cases have been transferred to the ITOs for verification & processing.

A tax mismatch is basically a mismatch between what is claimed by the assessee and tax credits available in 26AS.

CPC is currently running an email campaign to inform the assessees of this transfer.

Around 100 cases transfered again with the same msg....

none of the cases have credit mismatch...
