Please solve this cost (labour) problem.......

Q:  The company has a suggestion of box scheme and an award equivalent to one and a half
months saving in labour cost is passed on to the employee whose suggestion is
accepted. Suggestion of an employee to use a Jig for a manufacturing operation of a
component is accepted. The cost of the Jig which has a life of one year is Rs. 1,000 and
the use of the Jig will reduce the standard time by 8 minutes.
Compute from the following data the amount of award payable to the employee who has
given the suggestion.

(i) Number of pieces to be produced in the year : 15,000
(ii) Standard time per piece before use of Jig : 80 minutes
(iii) Average wage rate of workmen Rs. 160 per day of 8 hours.
(iv) Average efficiency of workmen : 80%.

I've got 6250

 yeah 6250 is correct

Reduced standard time is 8 minute, but the efficiency is 80% so time actually reduced is 10 minute.

No. of piece produced in a year is 15000 so total time reduced is 15000*10=150000 minutes.

150000/60=2500 hrs and wage rate  of  8 hrs is 160 so total wage rate is 2500*160/8=50000 Rs.

Total saving of wage rate of 1 year is 50000 and award equivalent to one and half month is given so,

50000*1.5/12=6250.

Therefore the amount of award payable is Rs.6250.
