Conversion to IPCC

Im currently in the PCC scheme....im thinkin of  terminating and joining IPCC.....in that case, will i get credit for the articleship i have already completed? or will i have to start again? ....also if i terminate and wish to register in another firm after my exam, will the new transfer of article rules apply to me ( that i have to be "50 kms" away....)? Can i continue the  rest of my articleship under another CA?

I have already done my ITT. Will i have to do it again in the new scheme?

you will get the credit of the period already completed in PCC .The only thing is that you have to undergo 3 1/2 years eventhough you're switching over to IPCC. If already articleship fully completed then no problem.

If already ITT completed no need to doing anymore. When switching over to IPCC you have pay addl fees that's all.

hi praveen..

can u pls answer my query..??

i hv taken termination frm my pricipal on 31march 09 after completing 2 yrs 3 mnths of articleship..but havent sent t form 109 yet due to rule change..i hv given pcc group 1 in june 09.. can i now switch to ipcc for may 2010 attempt?? will my termination be accepted then??

also when t last date fr registering fr ipcc??

Get the new 109 form, send it to ICAI along with your ipcc conversion form. you will have to give Rs.10,000/-.

since more 2 months passed from the date of your termination, you will have to provide copy of your audit diary.

also you have to give request for condoning the delay along with fee of about Rs.300/- along with your 109.

You have to all this by july 31st so that u can get may 2010 attempt of IPCC. But u cannot join the articleship till u complete group1 of ipcc.... its tough spot for all people yaar. I am giving this info to you which i got directly from sro @ icai.org.

Please use the email route to contact ICAI. its fast and effective (i heard its outsourced). Its much more fruitful than speculating on forums like this. All the best. to u. godspeed.

Okie....so ur sayin i'll get credit even if i change principal.....even after the new rules right?

How does one lose an attempt?

Is is that you are eligible for the exam and do not apply?

OR

you apply and you don not turn up for the exam?

Can someone upload the new form 109 and the ipcc registration form and the articleship re-registration form if they have it?......The form in the institute website is showing some error and i am unable to view the same.

R U REALLY SURE THEN EVEN AFTER CONVERSION A PCC STUDENT HAS TO COMPLETE 3 AND HALF YEARS AND NOT 3 YEARS

@ vivian

Yeah u will get the credit. U lose an attempt if u dont turn up after applying for either group.

@ Sumit:

Yes. u will be able to write ur final exam only after completing 3.5 years of articleship.

Means it will take u 9 months of IPCC + 3.5 years articles to clear at the earliest = 51 months.

PCC =42months

but new IPCC students can do in 9m+2.5y+6m=46months. Please dont convert... it might do your carreer too bad.. unless this is actually an exercise to change firms.
