Clubbing of income

ITR 110 views 1 replies

Kindly advise me on the following. Being a senior citizen i file my ITRs with income from pension as salary and fixed deposit interest as other income, while filing I also add up interest of my wife's fixed deposit interest to my other income, however I am not aware how to claim TDS deducted on wife's a/c towards bank interest. We are not submitting Form 15 G/H as the income is higher than taxable limits.

Thanks

GR Babu

Is interest income higher then NET TAXABLE limit? If you had gifted any amount to your spouse, then only clubbing of interest income compulsory, otherwise no need. Finally your solution is to file ITR of your wife to claim refund of any excess TDS amount.
