after getting name approval in form 1A and filing form 23 with the ROC, then is it necessary to file the form 1B.
can anyone tell me if the name approval letter will come only after filing the form 1B.
Can u advise me if there is any other formality with ROC to change the name of the company?
Yes filing of Form 1B is mandatory.
New certificate of incorporation consequent upon change of name of the company will be issued by ROC only after filing of Form 1B.
Application to be made in e-Form 1B and approval by the Registrar u/s 21
An application in e-Form 1B u/s 21 of the Act is to be made to the Central Government (powers delegated to the Registrar) electronically for approval of change of name of the company. Along with fee as per the Companies (Fees on Application) Rules, 1999 either, in cash or by demand draft.

Yes filling of Form 1B is must but after confirmation of Form 23.
