At the time of export ARE-1 intimation is required to the range superintendent and within 6 month from export of goods, proof of export is required to submit to the range office. After registration filling of return is necessary. Full exemption from excise upto the first clearances of Rs. 150 lakhs. If as SSI unit manufactures goods of different varieties falling under different chapter total exemption considering clearnces of all chapters together and all factories of same manufacturer together, will be Rs. 150 lakhs.

if the unit has filed ER-1 for april. that means he has not opted for notification 8/2003, and once excercised it can not be changed during the year, i.e he has to continue the status of april for remaining part of the year.
