for FY2007-2008, i read that the cases selected under CASS have to be served notice within 12 months from the month of filing the return.
has this changed from FY 2008-2009 and FY 2009-2010?
If the rule has changed, within what time should the IT Dept serve the notice for cases selected under CASS?

Now notice can be issued within six months from the end of the financial year in which return was filed.
So if you filed your return in April 2009 then notice u/s 143(2) under CASS can be issued upto 30th September, 2010.
