Cash payment of salary

Dear all,

I want to know about cash payment of salary exceeding Rs. 20000/-. Like our one employee's Gross salary is Rs. 22000/-. but after deduction we have to make him payment of Rs. 19360/-.

Now my question is that can we pay him the same amount in cash or due to cash payment limit of Rs. 20000/- we have to pay towards cheque as the gross salary is Rs. 22000/- ?
